3 Jobs That You Can Do Whilst You're A Digital Nomad

In the digital age, becoming a digital nomad is becoming increasingly more popular, with many people quitting the 9-5 for something more freeing. However, the road to becoming a digital nomad can be difficult to navigate, especially when you're still working a 9-5 with no options to take your current job work from home. This can make the digital nomad life feel impossible for many, leaving them unable to find their way on the road and feeling defeated and frustrated.

However, what I can tell you is that there are many jobs that require little to no prior experience and can help you get your life on the road. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it? Well, it is not, and it is actually easier to obtain than you may originally have thought.

So, if you're ready to ditch the 9-to-5 and start a life where you make the rules and you get to explore the world at the same time, while working a job to fund your life, here are 3 job roles that you can do with barely any experience, so you can stop dreaming and finally take your first steps into life on the road.

Social media manager

In a world of online content and millions of content creators, thanks to apps such as TikTok and Instagram, the demand for social media managers has never been higher. All you need for this role is good communication, proficiency online and good organisational skills, and you could be a special media manager. Most of these roles involve scheduling and organising posts for content creators and businesses, as well as researching current trends and future trends to keep your clients' content up to date and relevant. Many of these roles are advertised on digital nomad platforms as well, and you can reach out to content creators who may need help organising their content, also.

Virtual assistant

Virtual assistant or phone answering service nomad jobs are perfect for nomads who already work in administrative roles. These types of roles involve a wide range of jobs such as managing emails, scheduling appointments and handling customer concerns and can be a flexible role which can be done from a van or a cafe. Many of these virtual assistant roles can be done through hourly pay or through an agency. Where agency jobs provide stability, hourly pay can provide high earnings, with many virtual assistants charging around 30 an hour.

Freelance writer

Freelance writing roles are one of the most flexible roles on this list and are great for those nomads who are more creative and want to work on their own time. Many freelance websites will pay per word to produce blog posts and articles, meaning writers can make as much or as little as they would like. Often, you can find these jobs on blog websites, platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr.

Final Thoughts

The roles mentioned above are just 3 examples of jobs you can do while travelling or working abroad as a digital nomad. But with so many jobs out there, it’s definitely worth doing your own research to find something that works for you!
